Weather |
Anyone can tell the weather by looking out a window. It is the state of the atmosphere at a certain time. Climate, on the other hand, is the average weather over many years. Weather changes with the season because of the Earth's tilt when it revolves around the Sun. Some things that affect what kind of weather you're having today are temperature,, pressure, precipitation, fronts, clouds, and wind. Other more serious weather conditions are hurricanes, tornadoes, and thunderstorms. |

Some determining factors of weather are temperature, precipitation, fronts, clouds, and wind. Other more severe weather conditions are hurricanes, tornadoes, and thunderstorms. Weather occurs because our atmosphere is in constant motion from the Sun's energy reaching the surface. High pressure occurs when air is sinking. Under these conditions, good, clear weather is the result because the air is stable. However, low pressure areas are associated with unsettled weather conditions such as clouds, storms and wind. This happens because air rises when it it is unstable. Weather changes every season because of the Earth's tilt when it revolves around the sun. Meteorology is the study of weather, and meteorologists are scientists who study and predict weather. |
